Godly Wives

Key Verse: Proverbs 18:22, “He who finds a wife finds what is good and recieves favor from the Lord.”

This was a great reminder for me today. I really needed to read this today.

“This promise is nearly identical to the one in Provebs 8:35, where God’s favor is connected with finding the ultimate mate prize of wisdom.  Here is one more example of how highly God views women – and godly wives in particular.  A good wife is not happened on by chance, nor is she a man’s due; rather, she is a gift from God (Genesis 2:21-24; Proverbs 19:14).  The apostle Paul calls the spiritual union between husband and wife  a profound mystery, comparing it to Jesus Christ’s relationship with the curch (Ephesian 5:31-32).  Clearly, the huband-wife relatiship is a holy thing – a mystery blessed by God that transcends cultural mores and ever-changing roles.”

Lord, I pray that today we realize our roles are much more than just wife and mom.  Send an overwhelming sense of You in our daily walk and to be proud that we were chosen for such a high calling in life. Thank You, Jesus, amen.
